Renato Vesga, MD, is a dual board-certified physician by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. With extensive training and clinical expertise, he specializes in diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of spine, musculoskeletal, and pain-related disorders at Anchor Spine & Joint, located in Tampa, Riverview, Odessa, Pinellas Park, and Lutz, Florida.
His advanced skills include performing interventional spinal procedures, electrodiagnostic studies, and implanting neuromodulation systems to help patients manage chronic pain and improve function. Originally from New York City, Dr. Vesga completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia University before earning his medical degree at MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He went on to complete his internship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. To further refine his expertise, Dr. Vesga pursued an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at Temple University Hospital/Mid Atlantic Spine and Pain Physicians.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Vesga remained as a clinical instructor for fellows and residents at Temple University’s Pain Medicine Fellowship Program. He has also co-authored medical articles and book chapters on spine and pain-related disorders, contributing to the advancement of his field.
